Serbian Folklore Museum

A second year University project at Monash University

The Brief: To design a logo and devise its applications.
The logo is for a museum of your own invention. Self-initiated museums abound throughout the
world, often presenting strange and unusual collections that document the diversity of human
existence. Some are peculiar home-based museums (a trawl trough the internet will expose a
staggering array of backyard shed museums that feature everything from doillies to coffins).
Others are well financed and established institutions like the Wellcome Collection in London
that features a collection of medical and surgical apparatus form preceding centuries alongside
special showings.

I decided upon a museum of Serbian folklore, showcasing a rich cultural heritage along with the traditional ethnic slavic culture. I drew inspiration for my branding from traditional Serbian dance costumes. The promotional item designed was a slightly modern in take on some traditional Serbian patterns made using illustrator.
